Fundraising Update – July 2018
As ever we send our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has spent time and effort fundraising for us – in the first 6 months of 2018 you have been busy in many different ways to raise the much needed money that we need in order to keep delivering our programme of rehabilitation, support and prevention initiatives. Here are a few examples (but by no means all)
The staff at our following Corporate Supporters have held raffles, coffee & cake sales and other events in support of our work:
- Angloco Ltd
- Reliance Worldwide
- Sprue Safety Products
Meanwhile, the sporty staff at Coopers Fire Ltd once again participated in the Rough Runner competition and raised the wonderful amount of £663.
And we were delighted to, once again this year, be the nominated beneficiary of the Fire Industry Golf Society’s Gold Day – who have sent us a cheque for £700.
We would also like to extend thanks to the individual fundraisers who have pushed themselves to extremes for us. One intrepid supporter took part in in a tandem skydive with the team at Skydive Swansea and raised £165 – “It was an incredible experience made even more worthwhile knowing I would be helping your charity”
Our friends at the Imperial Winter Ball once again supported us. IWB Chairman, Christopher Arkell, said:
“This year’s Ball, held at the Caledonian Club, Belgravia, London for the third year, was one of our most successful events in the two decades that we have been putting on an event to raise funds for the Children’s Burns Trust. From the champagne reception, through to the splendid dinner and the glittering whirl of the dancing to the British Imperial Orchestra, the evening brought great delight to all guests. And the guests responded with tremendous generosity. The live and silent auctions, the gift tree, the pledges and a very substantial donation from Mr. Lev Loginov, the main sponsor of the evening, all helped raise £12,500 for the charity. My most grateful thanks go to Princess Marina Lobanov-Rostovsky, Mrs. Alpin MacGregor of Cardney, joint deputy Chairmen of the Ball Committee, Ms. Helen Young the Treasurer, Mrs. Christopher Arkell and all other members of the Ball Committee. Together they made a most effective team and it is my great privilege to serve with them as Chairman of the Ball.
We look forward to the 2019 Ball which is planned for Saturday 2 March 2019. Tickets will go on sale in the autumn and we will have at least 6 dance practices as usual, which are not only most enjoyable occasions in themselves but also raise funds for the Ball. We hope to welcome you to what is one of London’s most elegant social events, raising funds for one of the UK’s most effective charities.”
We are always extremely grateful for ALL the funds raised for us – no matter how small or large. As a small charity with minimal overheads, you can be sure the funds you raise for us will go directly to helping where it is most needed. Here’s an example of how fundraising support has helped us run another successful Family Weekend: https://www.cbtrust.org.uk/2018/05/31/family-weekend-roundup-april-2018/
