Fundraising Update – Spring 2017

No featured image set

The last few months have brought us warmer weather, blue skies and a spring in our step thanks to all our wonderful fundraisers who have been very busy!

Fire Service College

April showered us with an amazing £5,471.36 raised during Jim Martin’s year as President of The Mess Club, based at the Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh. A big thank you to all those involved in raising such a fantastic amount!

Wales Velothon

Simon Fuller, our Chairman’s brother, has been tirelessly training ahead of the Wales Velothon taking place Sunday, 9th July. The Velothon is no mean feat! Simon is cycling over 100km on behalf of Children’s Burns Trust and has nearly hit his fundraising target of £750; an amazing achievement already. We’ll be thinking of you on Sunday, Simon!

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service

Pat Gibbons, Watch Manager with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, ran the London Marathon for us. We are very grateful to Pat for committing to such a challenge and raising just under £1000.

Marathon Runner

Pat Gibbons completed the London Marathon 2017 in just over four hours.

Westco

Westco launched a new Safeguard Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) product in the latter part of 2016 with a commitment to donating a percentage of the sales to us for every one sold. In April they sent us a donation of £1,213.50 for which we are very thankful; we are only able to continue the work we do as a result of this kind generosity.

Cooper Fire

10k run, 15 obstacles and lots of mud. Mix that together and you get Rough Runner! Coopers Fire put a team into the Rough Runner event in April and raised £800 on our behalf. A massive thank you to the team!

Rough Runners

The Cooper Fire team took on the challenge that is Rough Runner.

Reliance Worldwide Corporation

Long term corporate supporters of CBT Reliance Worldwide Corporation (who also sponsor the production of our Hot Water Burns Like Fire leaflets), have regular staff raffles. They kindly raised £58 for us at Easter. Last Saturday they also arranged a football tournament – 10 teams of RWC and customers.  They had 2 leagues, it was an all day event with a bbq, raffle etc.  They raised £614, RWC will match what was raised, so a cheque for £1,228 will be coming to us soon.

RWC

Fire Industry Golf Society

We received £500 from the Fire Industry Golf Society whose members held a charity golf day to raise funds for us. Thank you to all who took part!

Truro School

£71.81 has been raised by the pupils of Truro School, whose student charity committee have been especially interested in the good work we undertake and have nominated us as the charity to receive this donation.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who fundraises for us.  In the last quarter we have also received donations from regular supporters, such as the Wildfire Cork Lodge and The Claims Desk, as well as various grant giving trusts who wish to remain anonymous.
