Fundraising Update: Our Community in Action
This spring and summer, supporters across the country are taking on remarkable challenges to raise funds for Children’s Burns Trust. Here are just a few of the incredible things people are doing on our behalf.
Brighton and Hove 10K, 12 April Sam, Lou and Bec are running the Brighton and Hove 10K to help fund our prevention education, family support and rehabilitation work. Support Sam: donate here | Support Lou: donate here | Support Bec: donate here
Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast, 20 April Alison is walking the full 90-mile Hadrian’s Wall route, camping the entire way. As a burn survivor herself, having spent three months in hospital following a serious burn injury at the age of six, this challenge is deeply personal. We are in awe of her. Charity Night and Great Bristol Run for Vinnie, April and May After their son Vinnie experienced a devastating burn injury last year, his family are raising funds for both Children’s Burns Trust and the Wales Air Ambulance. They are hosting a charity night at Ebbw Vale Welfare on 18 April, and Jamie and her partner will run the Great Bristol Run 10K in May. Of CBT they say: “The Children’s Burns Trust has been by our side, helping us realise we aren’t alone.” Support Vinnie’s family: donate here
Hackney Half Marathon, 17 May Charlotte is a burn survivor who experienced a serious burn injury as a baby and is dedicating her first ever half marathon to Children’s Burns Trust. She says: “I want to help them carry on the work they do so that they can help even more people.” Support Charlotte: donate here
Cheltenham Running Festival, June Marko and Bryony’s son Otis experienced a serious burn injury last November after pulling a cup of hot tea over himself. Thanks to the brilliant team at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, he has made a strong recovery. Now his parents are running to give back, with Marko taking on the half marathon and Bryony the 10K. Following the cancellation of the event in Birmingham, they have now changed to Cheltenham. Support Bryony: donate here | Support Marko: donate here
Mini First Aid HQ to CBT HQ, August A team from our friends at Mini First Aid will be walking from their headquarters to ours later in the summer. More details to follow.
A generous donation from the Residential Sprinkler Association We are delighted to share that the Residential Sprinkler Association has made a wonderful donation of £2,500 to Children’s Burns Trust. We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and their shared commitment to keeping children safe from fire and burn injuries.
Other exciting plans are afoot for later in the year. Additional fundraising challenges on the horizon include a sponsored walk by one of our ambassadors, carrying the weight of their children on their backs, a padel event by the Fire Industry Association and a 1000 mile bike ride across Europe by another ambassador.
Our thanks also go to SAM, home of MDF mouldings, and Stock Brook Manor Golf Club Senior Section for selecting us as their chosen charity for 2026-2027 and everyone else who has generously donated to the charity over the last year.
Every donation makes a difference. In 2025, 10,164 children and young people experienced burn or scald injuries seriously enough to require specialist treatment, and 6,040 of those were under the age of five. If you are inspired to take on your own challenge, visit our website to find out how to get involved.
