Fundraising Update – Summer 2016
We are forever grateful for the fundraising activity of individuals and companies who have supported and continue to support the Children’s Burns Trust (CBT); and we can only continue our amazing work because of their efforts. Here’s a round-up of fundraising activity which has taken place for the charity since May 2016.
Knebworth Golf Day
Knebworth Golf Day was held on the 21ش May, a fantastic day was had by all with over 130 players taking part. This year’s Club Captain, Mark Burns chose CBT as his nominated charity because one of his sons was scalded as a toddler. Club Professional Garry Parker then proceeded to complete a London to Paris bike ride, cycling a total of 300 miles. The photo below shows a triumphant Garry at the end of his long ride, can you believe he can still lift his bike up! Alongside these two activities Mark’s son Dominic Burns completed a mini-tri-athlon. These three events have generated a staggering £12,000 for the charity. We are so grateful to Mark, Garry, Dominic and everyone who attended and supported the Golf Day.
Reliance Water Control Football Tournament
Our wonderful supporters Reliance Water Controls raised £500 from a Football tournament in Belfast on the 4ال June. Plumb Center won the competition ahead of Plumbmaster. Other teams taking part in the competition included Beggs & Partners, PTS,Glenhill Merchants, Bassetts and Clanmil Housing Group. Stuart Harron, Sales Director of Reliance Water Controls for Ireland, said, “We want to thank everyone for a great day and for supporting CBT. We hope after this success that we can now make this an annual event.”
Skydiving and Prison Break
The completely crazy but amazing Jane-Lily Veli raised an awesome £100 jumping out of a plane for CBT and we could not be more thankful!. Another amazing fundraiser Jim Slazell phoned us to say he had raised around £415 doing a “Prison Break”. What innovative ways to raise money and also have a good time!
